Nose

Lots of gentle sweetness here, some toffee fudge and caramel-covered apples. There’s a bit of freshly grated nutmeg to give a slightly drier note.

Palate

More of a sherry cask note emerges on the palate — plump raisins soaked in butter, some prunes, a bit of rubber, dark chocolate.

Finish

Dark and rich, with a warming spiciness — cinnamon and nutmeg.

Comment

Was surprised how brooding the palate was compared to the nose — enjoyable and one for those who enjoy a richer, chewier whisky.
