Enjoyable, surprised how quaffable this is considering its ABV. If, as I suspect, this is a sherried whisky, it is extremely well balanced with no overwhelming oak but a discreet marriage of flavours. A great Speyside.

Taster

Nose: Vanilla, saltiness followed by a delicate oak spice prickle finishing on bitter orange and raisins.

Palate: Lovely oak \nspice, ginger and cinnamon gradually taken over by creamy vanilla and strong orange and lemon.

Finish: Light, zesty with a touch of nuttiness, cinnamon and vanilla.

Comment: Enjoyable, surprised how quaffable this is considering its ABV. If, as I suspect, this is a sherried whisky, it is extremely well balanced with no overwhelming oak but a discreet marriage of flavours. A great Speyside.

Taster

Nose: A nose of herbal brittle toffee, barley and earth with hints of tart gooseberry, fennel and thyme. With time, honey, beeswax and banana skin. Water emphasises the barley and fruit.

Palate: Sweet and honeyed but the alcohol and minerality balance. Coffeed oak with barley and subtle herbal notes. They build in intensity, especially when diluted.

Finish: Masked by the alcohol and drying with the herbal notes in full swing, especially with the addition of water. Light honey and banana skin.

Comment: A seriously entertaining dram... As long as you have a bit of a herbal fetish that is!
