Nose

A lovely subtlety hinting at some age. Plenty of sweet barley and medicinal peat. Woody along with hints of Parma Violets, manure, earth and liquorice.

Palate

Barley sweet but the saltiness balances. Woody with hints of coffee, earth and cigar smoke. Bracing and intense with medicinal peat, sweet peat and tar. \n

Finish

Long, mouth-watering and coastal with the sweet barley acting like a partial buffer. Lovely coffee and Parma Violet finish. \n

Comment

A lovely, mature Islay malt which displays an excellent complexity of peat aromas and flavours.
