Nose

Mandarin with hints of melon and ripe pear. Orange blossom water. Oatcakes and lavender honey. Star anise and cinnamon stick. Blueberry muffin and a hint of melted milk chocolate.

Palate

Medium. Juicy tropical fruit (melon, papaya), spun sugar, fresh plum, and frangipane. Sherried raisin, flaked almond, milk chocolate-coated wafer, some almost savoury spice, and weak black coffee.

Finish

Long. Raspberry and blueberry clafoutis, eventually dried out by gentle tannins.

Comment

A nicely complex malt with lovely character and good texture.
