Nose
Soft and pillowy — lots of well-developed fruit but doesn’t come off as heavy. Some blackberry jam and a touch of menthol, dried apricot, and peach rings.
Palate
Spicy without water but there’s plump plums, tea-soaked raisins, and some nutmeg too. With water, it mellows and has a wonderful texture that was initially hard to find behind the spice.
Finish
Fairly rich and dark, brown sugar and spice with a touch of bitterness.
Comment
A full-flavoured and chewy whisky that I want to go back to.
