Nose
Deep and mature with lightly floral honey coated dried fruit. Quite woody with plenty of coffee-tannins. Lightly treacly with camphor, thyme and milk chocolate plus a touch of sawdusty oak. A herbal almost grainy note appears with some earthy/sweet peat.
Palate
Deep and luscious with earthy honeycomb and treacle. Plenty of coffee-tannins and wood notes. Not as complex on the nose as the tannins take hold.
Finish
A little drying and bitter. The honey just hangs in there, balances. Lingering grainy note.
Comment
Superb nose but a very tannic palate.
