Taster

Nose: Coffee. Shoe polish. Figs, prune and strawberry. Oily and resinous. Deep with an off-dry savoury sweetness. With water balsamic. Big and sherried but has promise.

Palate: Big and very bitter. Burning autumn bonfire. Chestnut, then the shoe polish returns. Water makes it even more grippy.

Finish: Bitter.

Comment: Overcooked.

Taster

Nose: Woody. Concentrated. Heady floral note. Hyacinth. Burnt caramel.\rOvercooked plum jam. A sour fruit note.

Palate: Sweet at first then the wood speaks up. Bitter chocolate, ground coffee beans.

Finish: The bitterness lingers and lingers.

Comment: An overaged malt which has the accent of an overaged bourbon ! You have got to have a taste for woody whiskies to like this one.
