Tasting Notes

Nose

Herbal (sage, thyme and heather) and slightly earthy, with fermenting apples, tomato stem and peppermint leaf. Graphite, paints and modelling putty. Leather, paprika and a whiff of subtle cigar smoke.

Palate

Medium bodied. Liquorice, red grape juice and cinder toffee. A herbal structure, mirroring the nose. Roasted chestnut, subtle oyster mushroom, and black treacle. Muscovado sugar, anise and white miso.

Finish

Medium length, with sage and tobacco.

Comment

A venerable, concentrated, old dram.
