Nose
Quite an effusive nose, with a sooty/charred note coming from (double?) oak. This is more about dried plum and cranberry. Sweet and subtle.
Palate
Fat and jammy. The fruits are ripe alongside some pecan but sweetness. Water however accentuates the oak and some stalky tannin. Hard to tell what this was before the secondary casking took place.
Finish
Butter, coffee and oak.
Comment
For me the cask is over-dominant.
