Nose

Some corking vibrancy that fades quickly. Malty, mealy, sherried indeed – sun-dried tomatoes and slightly perfumed, old roses and sandalwood.

Palate

Excellent balance, and mouth-watering, but the flavours feel trapped behind a slightly metallic layer. Slightly yeasty, and those mild flavours: apples, sultanas, honey and butter.

Finish

Short, and the yeasty, mild flavours drift on nicely.

This is not complex, but it’s a charming everyday dram.
