Nose

Full on sticky plum jam with hints of rich almond paste. Those marzipan fruits, poached pears in cider. Seriously rich Christmas cake. Then moves into a more meaty arena, smoke laden tweed bolts, Minestrone soup.

Palate

Such a delicate but profound smoke profile, mixed with an almond, nutty aroma. Huge stewed fruit notes, and those pears in cider.

Finish

Raisins soaked in port, and the tang of really good Seville orange marmalade.

Comment

A very impressive drop. Shows the signs of age, and having aged gracefully.
