Nose

At first, wet grass, freshly baked croissants, and a hint of smoke. There’s a nuttiness too, perhaps almonds, and in the background gooseberries.

Palate

Sooty smoke is more pronounced on the palate. There’s lots of nice citrus alongside that grassy note and green apples, with just a touch of vanilla. With water, more ashy smoke.

Finish

Lingering — that smoke really holds on and washes over the whole palate.

Comment

A robust and clingy whisky — this one takes hold and does not let go.
