Nose

Lovely dark fruits instantly – blackberries, elderberries, plum jam. Figs. Red onion chutney, with muscovado sugar and burnt toffee notes. A spicy Côtes du Rhône.

Palate

Plenty going on: that dark fruit, balsamic intensity with brine. Cranberry juice. With time – raisins, redcurrants, a real acidic tartness within.

Finish

Coastal with black tea, damson jam, and echoing the spicy red wine on the nose.
