Nose

Barbecuing beef and sweet-salty crispy seaweed. Iodine and some slight petrolic notes. Caramelised pineapple. Smoked vanilla cream. Key lime pie. Slight bitter vegetal note, like raw spinach.

Palate

Palate: Medium. Biscuity notes appear alongside slightly iodic smoke. Warm moss. Barbecued ribs. Sticky tropical fruit (pineapple, melon). Red grape juice. Dark chocolate, lime zest, and stem ginger.

Finish

Long and tannic. The smoke fades to red fruit and nutty biscuit.

Comment

The maturation has added a lovely richness to the classic Islay profile.
