Nose

Distinct aromas of crisp and herbal grain spirit with hints of manure, bog myrtle, sweet barley and faintly astringent peat. A little soapy with time.

Palate

Opens with what appears to be a fair degree of herbal grain spirit. Lightly oiled malt with peat and subtle tarry notes on the middle. Quite straightforward but pleasantly crisp. \n

Finish

Long and grainy with a peaty, salty finish. The salt really lingers. \n

Comment

Appears to be a grain heavy blended whisky with the peated malt punching above its weight. However it’s an enjoyable, unpretentious dram.
