Nose
Face-melting ashy peat. Vegetative, even slightly brackish, but honey and hay barns follow. Light wood smoke, seaweed. Hemp. Damp rope. Lemonade.
Palate
This is not subtle – that ashy peat continues, with notes of tobacco. But water skewers the peat and brings out some nice velvety toffee notes, with lemon curd and custard.
Finish
Medium-length, with the ashiness and jam tarts.
Comment
A weird whisky, and a bit unbalanced, but it mostly works.
