Nose

Dried cherry and date. Spicy oak and subtle red wine. Dark chocolate-coated crystallised ginger. A hint of smoky cayenne pepper. Strawberry leaf.

Palate

Light-medium bodied. Black Forest Gateau, with sticky cherry jam, vanilla, and cocoa-rich sponge cake. A hint of lemon that leans toward furniture polish. Continuing spicy oak, with hot cinnamon sweets and tannic black tea.

Finish

Medium-long, on the red wine notes and bitter dark chocolate.

Comment

A drop of water softens this and makes its fruity notes juicier.
