Nose
There’s a gentle Islay peatiness here alongside warm stewed apples and pears, plus bergamot and fresh-cut grass. Later on, date syrup, Maltesers, and mocha.
Palate
A fairly bold start: tobacco leaf, horse stables and a brash coastal peat. Some forest floor, rubber, cola, and Tunnocks wafers.
Finish
Long and persistent, nice balance between the smoke and the fruit.
Comment
Classic ‘old’ Islay. Very compelling and seamless.
