Rosebank Distillery (Closed 1993)
ABV: 40%
Age: 8 Years Old
Style: Single Malt
Country: Scotland
Region: Lowland
Bottling: Murray McDavid
Overall
Score
6.5
Nose
Horribly unbalanced mixture of new make and sappy oak. The malt is merely incidental.
Palate
Sweet, malty and, er, that's it .
Finish
Almost sickly sweet. The oak remains off-key.
Comment
The label quotes my devotion to Rosebank at 8 years. I'm not devoted to it in this form. The cask this malt was filled into must have been exhausted as the whisky is closer to a 2 Years Old in character. The only good point is that there are no off notes.
