Nose

Toffees and butterscotch sauce. Camp coffee and milk chocolate with honeycomb — think Crunchy bar. Pencil shavings and cinnamon stick, followed by dried apple and Medjool date.

Palate

A little hot at first. With time comes dark chocolate and espresso, black treacle and clove spice. Some peppery elements and solid tannin structure.

Finish

Hot and spicy, with red apple.

Comment

A bit unruly at first, it took a little taming. The patience does pay off though, if one perseveres.
