Nose

Porridge with sultanas and golden syrup. Vanilla pod, tuille biscuits, shaved fennel, peppery rocket, and porcini mushroom. Satay sauce (peanut, coconut, lime). A hint of rubber shoe sole.

Palate

Medium. French toast, icing sugar, maple syrup, Black Forest compote, and espresso-soaked sponge fingers. Roasted chestnut, fried mushroom, and a little ground coffee bean.

Finish

Medium, on the black coffee-sponge fingers combo and walnut.

Comment

Dark and delightful.
