Nose

Classic pot still aromas, with dried fruits – raisins, sultanas. Then wholemeal toast, walnuts, fennel, fruit cake, dried tea and ending up a little earthy.

Palate

It’s exceptionally silky, with more heft than the nose. Toffee-led sweetness is balanced beautifully with ginger and all spice. Coffee grounds, toasted notes, with salted caramel and dark chocolate.

Finish

Spicy towards the end, with chili pepper heat and ginger. A little short.

Comment

Very much a classic example of this style. Delicious to boot.
