ABV 55%
A big untamed Bourbon which needs a dash of water to calm down. Not much though as it goes on the astringent side. I know there are fans of this style. Too fiery for me.

Nose: Big, powerful. Woody. Cedarwood. Cigar box. Waxed jacket. Sour fruit. Cranberry.
Palate: A sweet start then a huge oaky outburst. Bitter chocolate. Pepper. A huge wave of spices and oak which numbs the tongue. Walnut toffee notes too.
Finish: Dry, spicy, prickly.

Taster
Nose: Huge nose, serious stuff. Crammed full of aromatic cedar boxes, drying tobacco, fermented cherries, buttered cornbread and toffee pennies.
Palate: The oak is at the front here, toffee and cinnamon spices. Nutneg and allspice. Pinewood resin, dark chocolate and hazelnuts.\r
Finish: Warming and spicy.
Comment: Whoa a big Bourbon, great stuff indeed. Takes me right back to the rickhouses of Kentucky. Worth seeking out for sure.
Score: 8.5
