Tasting Notes

Gavin Smith

Taster

Nose: Mashy, cereal notes, plant leaves and vanilla. Plain chocolate and raisins.

Palate: Lots of fresh spices and a carry-over of dark chocolate from the nose. Malty and oily.

Finish: Relatively long and spicy, with chocolate notes becoming fruitier.

Comment: Starts off nosing younger than its years, but grows into itself with time.

Score: 8.1

Taster

Nose: Bread-like notes, reminiscent of fresh cut barley. Breakfast muesli. Great layers of vanilla and Maltesers.

Palate: Waves of ground spices and melted chocolate; in fact chocolate covered cornflakes. Some dried fruits.

Finish: Long and leaves a malty aftertaste.

Comment: A little shy at first but this is well worth the wait.
