Nose
Big and perfumed, with notes of coffee cake, chestnut, treacle, burnt orange, mulled wine spice.
Palate
A little woody and firm, but has just sufficient sweet spirit to carry. Oak, spiced orange, dried fruit, nutmeg. Spicy and quite full with a light touch of burnt sugar. Cognac-like.
Finish
Fresh ginger. Oak.
Comment
Old, mature, showing its age a bit, but still a remarkable dram.
