Immediate: smoked haddock, creosote/tar, hessian, peat smoke with lovely sweet fruitiness behind. In time, leather. Great.

Palate

Smouldering peat fires, heather, violet. Dry oak balanced by lovely toffee sweetness in the middle of the palate. Complex.

Finish

Long, peaty, tarry.

Comment

A huge, rich and strangely elegant Laphroaig. Miles better than the official 15 Years Old.
