Nose

Peaty, phenolic. Creosote. Smoked haddock. Touch of tar. Farmyard. A distant sweet floral note. Gorse. Drying seaweeds. Apple sour with water.

Palate

Sweet, oily. The alcohol is well tamed. Liquorice losanges. Oak shows up at mid-palate.Water releases a sour note.

Finish

Lingering, dry. Bitter liquorice root.

Comment

Obviously a mariner.Getting a bit grumpy on the palate.
