Nose

Wow! Lots going on here. Overripe fruit, baked apples and pears, dark honey, brown toast, vanilla, liquorice, cinnamon, dark cherries, alongside leather and tobacco.

Palate

Not as rich and sweet as expected from the nose but so appealing: dark-roast coffee, Heering cherry liqueur, almost Manhattan-like. With water, more floral, citrus and cherry blossom notes.

Finish

Great weight and medium length finish.

Lovely example of a rye that is made in Texas: concentrated and balanced.
