Nose
Mellow and sweet but with an ever-building aroma of smoky pimenton, earthy heathery smoke and touches of wet (wooden) fish boxes. Complex.
Palate
Balanced and smoky (that pimenton again) which then leads into bacon, then smoked fish and then finally to freshly salted mackerel.
Finish
Smoke re-emerges. Firm.
Comment
The best so far in this series of 30yo Taliskers but to be nit-picky about it just a little more activity from the cask would have elevated it still further.
