Nose

Without water it’s particularly shy, though there are hints of sticky toffee sauce, almond croissants, cinnamon and stem ginger peeking through as well.

Palate

Riesen chocolate chews swimming in more of that thick toffee sauce. Rich red fruits in morello cherries and blackcurrant juice, with an earthy, almost liquorice bass note supplemented by dry, toasted oak.

Finish

Toffee and treacle tart with a nicely burnt crust.

Comment

Weighty and decadent, it’s a beast of a whisky.
