Nose: Cola Cubes, all buttered toffees. A fern-like, forest elements, fresh cut grass and harvested hay bales. Grape stalks, a little winey note, then buttery sweetness of scones and cream tea.
Palate: The sweetness ramps up. Sugar coated almonds and jellied fruits, meringues with black cherry compote. Oak spice and vanilla. More cream tea notes of hot scones and jam.
Finish: The sweetness prises open the oak. Full gobstopper and chewing gum sweetness.
Comment: Like a Victoria sponge soaked in Bourbon.

Taster
Nose: Cider richness with oak notes: polished bannisters, maple syrup, almost over-ripe apples giving way to tropical fruit notes with a freshly-cut grass headiness.
Palate: Orchard fruit notes of pear drops and apple crumble, then more tropical fruit and peaches soaked in honey. A hint of manuka honey, and then milk chocolate and malty assam tea.
Finish: Fruity with the lightest liquorice note, long and warming with cinnamon spice at the end.
Comment: A gorgeous selection of orchard windfall delights.
Score: 8.8
