Nose
Dance of the sugarplum fairies! Lots of light, but boisterous fruit here to start — apricots, apples, pears, and plums. There’s a tiny hint of paint thinner and marzipan in the background.
Palate
An unexpected first sip — some very light smoke, lots of lime zest, and vanilla. With water, some of the fruitiness diminishes but the dram becomes well rounded and soft.
Finish
Quite long both with and without water with a good kick to it.
Comment
I wasn’t totally sure what to expect but it really grew on me.
