Nose

Light toffee and an almost Tequila/agave note to start. White sugar and chewy dark liquorice. With water, more floral notes come out — chamomile tea, some blossom honey.

Palate

Gentle ashy smoke with a lovely sweetness that emerges on the palate. Some rubber notes linger in the background, alongside pine nuts and grainy sugar. With water, it becomes quite light.

Finish

Medium length, with a lingering sooty note.

A whisky that’s both delicate and powerful — an interesting release from this northern spot.
