Nose
Sponge fingers with raspberry jam, whipped cream and almond flake. Milk chocolate and stewed plums with brandy.
Palate
Medium bodied and somewhat dry. Black tea, liquorice stick, clove, chinotto and sage. A retronasal furniture polish note.
Finish
Medium-long, with clove and bergamot orange. A suggestion of smoke, but could be an illusion.
Comment
Bittersweet and amaro-like. The overall effect is quite dry and this lack of balance is what keeps it just shy of the 8s.
