Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Juicy, smoky with iodine notes. There's sooty chimneys, rock pools, seaweed, crepe bandages and burnt sticks on the beach.

Palate: Slightly bitter with some citric notes which are then given a blanket of peat smoke and iodine.

Finish: Long. Smoky. Medicinal.

Comment: You can see why blenders adore this. For those who like their Islay malts aggressive, zesty and smoky.

Score: 7.8

Taster

Nose: Vegetal. Green. Or is that suggested by the Chartreuse colour? Or the shade of undiluted real absinthe. A very pretty whisky.

Palate: Light but oily. Fragrant. Junipery, fruity. Peppery. Phenolic.

Finish: Very dry. Reminds me of alder smoke.

Comment: Young and hot. If that sounds flirtatiously sexy, you have the right idea.
