Nose

Wood smoke, coal dust, moss, menthol, eucalyptus and olive brine. Pear drop and liquorice stick.

Palate

Medium-light bodied, but with prickly ginger heat that subsides with time. Sweet ripe red apples and pears. A little cucumber and celery, seared and smoked on a BBQ. Heather honey on burnt white bread, with more pear drop.

Finish

Medium-short. Evaporates and dries out, leaving apple core.

Comment

Spirit forward. Bracing but invigorating, like standing on Islay’s coast in the wind and spray.
