Tasting Notes

Nose

Intense, grainy Bourbon oak. Gritty tannins. Herbal and hoppy with apricot, honey and tangerine. Hints of rum-like dried fruit. Like a grain whisky with water.

Palate

Soft and honeyed with light coffee and oxidised fruit. Darker flavours in the middle as a treacle note emerges. Less oak than the nose. Water emphasises the dried fruit and spices.

Finish

Very oily with the herbal note returning and the treacle note lingering. Quite dry and alcoholic neat. Water lengthens but still dry.

Comment

My only quibble is that it’s a bit dry on the finish. Best with a drop of water.
