Taster

Nose: Cinnamon-dusted oranges and apricots and brightness of physalis. Wander through the distillery, past the maltings and into the fermentation room, to a smell from fermentation in the washbacks.

Palate: Velvety soft and easy drinking at first, then a touch of sour beer. Milk chocolate, corn crisps and orange peel, sweet cinnamon, walnuts and hazelnuts, plus green tree sap.

Finish: Medium-length, with some physallis and more apricot coming in.

Comment: Have this as a half-and-half with a lambic, perhaps?

Score: 7.7

Taster

Nose: Fudge, praline and marzipan. Milk chocolate. Turkish Delight. Nutmeg and fennel then classical dried fruits. Madeira cake. Very attractive.

Palate: An Oloroso nuttiness compliments charming oily sweetness: sultanas, apricots, stewed apples and heather honey. Ginger warmth, drizzled \r\nin custard.

Finish: The apples, honey and ginger all linger with the pleasing aftertaste of a tasty pudding.

Comment: Beautiful whisky. Just tasty, good old-fashioned stuff. More of this, please.
