Nose

Spicy and grainy with buttery oak, earth, fragrant spice, grainy coffee and a lightly herbal rye-like note. The focus is on the oak character. Lovely creamy, toasted, toffeed and gritty vanillins.

Palate

Opens with the toasted and toffeed oak, burnt at the edges. Gritty and herbal spices emerge but the oak is more tannic than creamy. Pleasantly vibrant and edgy though.

Finish

Reasonable length with lingering burnt toffee, tannins and herbal rye-like notes.

Comment

A lovely, complex nose but the oak gipped the palate a little too much.
