Could serve as a gentler introduction to smoky whiskies.
Track 2: Firestarter
No age statement
Nose: Bonfire smoke and hints of moss. Waxy cheese and yeast extract. Subtle apple and watermelon cordial. Toasted rye bread and sunflower spread. Very soft floral notes on top.
Palate: Light-medium. The bonfire-smoke and mossy notes return with diluted fruit cordial. Toffee apple and a little toasted marshmallow. With time, caramel-topped digestive biscuit.
Finish: Long, led by caramel-biscuit notes with hints of peat.
Comment: Could serve as a gentler introduction to smoky whiskies.
Nose: Pear drop, aloe vera, sliced green apple, medicated plasters, and honeydew melon. Cucumber and spearmint, then vanilla malted milkshake. Pencil shavings and wood smoke.
Palate: Medium-full. Moderate oak-smoked salmon. More underripe melon (this time cantaloupe) with white grape, lemon oils, juicy nectarine, and a little anise. Under it all, a foundation of vanilla syrup and tarte tatin.
Finish: Medium. The anise note builds.
Comment: A complex, balanced, and approachable dram.
