Nose

Initially fairly sweet, with a cinder toffee note. A slight touch of ash, some ripe plums, and sticky honeysuckle.

Palate

A touch more pokey on the palate than expected from the nose — quite warm across the tip of the tongue with notes of caramel, freshly baked peach pie, then black liquorice and sawdust.

Finish

Slightly drying with a bitterness at the back of the tongue and a lingering toasted wood note.

Comment

Really enjoyed the nose and the palate was certainly not one dimensional but wanted more from it.
